COVID-19 Preparedness Plans
Through May 27, 2021, all Minnesota all business and places of public accommodation are required to have and implement a written COVID-19 Preparedness Plan that addresses requirements established by Executive Order and applicable Stay Safe Industry Guidance. Sector-specific guidance posted on the pages below is effective.
From May 28 until June 30, 2021 -- or until 70% of Minnesotans aged 16+ receive at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, whichever comes earlier -- business and places of public accommodation are subject only to the more limited requirements in the COVID-19 Universal Guidance for All Businesses and Entities.
Minnesota’s Face Covering Requirement
Emergency Executive Order 20-81 requires Minnesotans to wear a face covering in certain settings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Minnesotans must wear a face covering in indoor businesses, indoor public settings, and in outdoor venues with more than 500 people as described in this order and the related industry guidance below, as well as any other guidance referenced in this order.
Employees must also wear face coverings outdoors when it is not possible to maintain social distancing.
When leaving home, Minnesotans are strongly encouraged to have a face covering with them at all times to be prepared to comply with the requirements of this Executive Order.
For complete details and a list of frequently asked questions on Executive Order 20-81 surrounding mandatory face coverings, please see Face Covering Requirements and Recommendations under Executive Order 20-81.
